Brenda Salgado
Brenda is a first-generation Nicaraguan-American, a spiritual teacher, speaker, healer, organizer, movement leader, a founding member of Moons Rising Circle and WisdomWomen. Her work reflects a strong commitment to reclaiming our stories of wholeness, healing our connection with land, healing personally and across our many ancestral lines, and building regenerative cultures of gift and reciprocity. Brenda has received training from elders in Purepecha traditional healing, Xochimilco traditional healing with roses, and herbal medicine and ceremony from various teachers in the U.S. and in Central America. She has over 17 years of experience in nonprofit management, movement building, women’s health, and environmental and social justice. She currently serves as Associate Director for Wisdom & Money and on the board of the Lion’s Roar Foundation. In the past, she has served as the Director of the East Bay Meditation Center, a Senior Fellow at Movement Strategy Center, and speaks nationally on mindfulness, women’s healing and leadership, transformative practice, and indigenous prophecy. Her recent book Real World Mindfulness for Beginners: Navigate Daily Life One Practice at a Time, features a wide range of diverse and next generation mindfulness leaders. Brenda recently founded Nepantla Consulting, offering healing, restorative circle work, training and workshops, and strategic support for individuals and changemakers driven to build systems and models which are regenerative in nature.
